Our experience at Horseshoe Haven was great. The facilities were first rate and the hosts very responsive to any of our questions. The lake was wonderful. We had our own boat and were able to do wake-surfing, tubing, and skiing. The kayaks and paddle boards were also used every day. The raft came in handy when we were swimming. Fishing was good also. The home was well furnished with everything we needed. The backyard set up well for campfires. They have a gentleman who supplies firewood for a very reasonable fee. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone.

“I’ll come back again and again.”
I’ve traveled to many cities in the states and Canada and I always rent through Airbnb and non of the places I’ve been to comes close to this place. The cabin is so stylish, clean, huge, and it has everything that you need to have fun. There is a table with many play cards and the screens are connected to Netflix, Amazon, and cable with many channels. The kitchen has everything and nothing was missed. The bathrooms are super clean and the towels are fresh. Jen and her husband Lee are so kind and lovely people, they amazed us with their hospitality and making sure that we’re having fun and enjoying our stay. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE AND I’LL COME BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN WITH NO DOUBT OR HESITATION.

“The fishing for large mouth bass northern pike was fantastic!”
Our family loved everything about our stay at beautiful Horseshoe Haven! We lacked nothing in creature comforts and there was always something fun to do, like the kayaks and canoe when the weather cooperated, and poker and board games when it didn't. Decor and furnishings were updated and pleasant, and the kitchen was nicely equipped. There was a gas grill and an excellent fire pit outside including enough split wood for several fires. We rented the available deluxe pontoon boat (completes with power lift) which ran perfectly. And what a great location on the lake! A loon family visited every day providing my wife with numerous photo opportunities. The fishing for large mouth bass northern pike was fantastic!

“It was the perfect place for our family.”
We selected this place for an early Christmas Celebration. It was the perfect place for our family. The house had everything we needed and more. We have two little ones (two under 2) and were extremely (and pleasantly) surprised to find out there were a couple of baby gates available, a high chair, and a pack and play. The beds were really comfortable, the kitchen was really well equipped and overall was a great house for our holiday get away. Jen and Lee were great about communicating with us and answering any of our questions. Can't wait to be back and hopefully be able to visit again in the summer.

This is a warm, comfortable home with incredible lake views throughout the home. All 5 of us found the beds to be comfortable, with good mattresses and high end sheets. The open kitchen and living area provided us with a perfect space to be together with our family. We rented the pontoon boat, which worked like a charm. The loft was fantastic, with the triple train bed, cool windows and game area. We would consider returning to this property in the future. Jen is a responsive and kind host!

The moment we walked in we were greeted with birds galore on the deck that were enjoying the bird seed on deck!! Loved seeing the big blue jay and we even saw an eagle soaring over the lake! The lake activities kept us looking! The neighbor making a skate rink, a truck getting stuck lol, snow mobiles, kids being pulled on snow boards! We even entertained the lake and made snow angels!! The house is wonderful! Lots of space!! Comfortable beds!! Fully loaded kitchen. TVs everywhere so guest can split up if different showings are desired. Great shower on main level if you have someone with standing issues. Overall YES we recommend staying here!! Cant imagine it during summer prob 10x better!!!

“We spent our annual girls weekend at Horseshoe Haven and enjoyed all the things the house has to offer from extremely comfortable beds to everything you would possibly need in the kitchen. We used the paddle boat, kayaks and paddle board. At night we had bonfires down by the lake with all the wood provided by the owners at no extra cost. “I definitely recommend this place!! The pictures are spot on and the cabin is very clean. The upstairs loft was perfect for the kids. They loved having their own space and enjoyed all the games they had. The beds are super comfortable and you can tell are high end mattresses. The Kitchen being fully equipped was definitely a plus. Multiple crockpots and even an air fryer!! The lake is beautiful!! The kids had a blast swimming and really enjoyed the raft. Jen was such a great host and was readily available when I had questions. Get the boat!! Its the Rolls Royce of pontoons!! Super nice with all the bells and whistles!! Place was super cute!!! It was very clean and the owners were very responsive and provided lots of tips on things to do in the area, and lots of detailed instructions on the house. The master bedroom was a bit tight, not a ton of space after the bed was in there. A great addition would be a tv in there!! The bathrooms were stocked with nice and fluffy towels, lots of counter space which is a huge plus!! The loft is adorable and perfect for kids! The game machine is amazing, super fun and brings back great memories! The bedroom downstairs is nice and quiet, perfect for if you have little ones that need to sleep in a pack and play and have some quiet space.

“It seemed that everything was though of”

Horseshoe Haven is exactly what you’re looking for. The loft is amazing for the kids. Jen and Lee were fantastic hosts. They truly made this rental feel like our own home for a few days. With 4 kids under 10, we spent a lot of time tubing on the pontoon boat, roasting marshmallows at the fire pit, fishing (and catching!) from the dock, eating yummy meals and just having lots of fun! The boat was in excellent condition. We’re novice boaters and we had our concerns about captaining a boat for a few days but it was amazing. Lee made us feel very comfortable with operating it. We’re ready to book for next summer!

We really enjoyed the house on Turtle Lake! Great decor, clean, everything looks brand-new. And lots of rooms for either privacy, or everyone gathering together, whichever you prefer. Beautiful view of the lake! Since we were there in December, the lake was frozen solid. We took a couple of walks on it which were a lot of fun! The host also left us a bottle of wine and a couple of things for the kids! Very nice. Hope to come back in Summer and enjoy the open water!

Rented Horseshoe Haven for an annual weekend gathering of college friends. We had 10 people in our group and the house was perfect. It's very big, with ample sleeping quarters plus a great loft area for playing cards, board games and video games. Despite of the size of our group, the expansive layout allows guests to spread out, do different activities and not feel like they're trampling on each other. The house is also beautifully situated on Horseshoe Lake. You're out in nature and yet only a 5 minute drive to downtown Turtle Lake. This house met all our expectations and more. We will definitely rent this house again.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful 3 nights up on Horseshoe Haven over MN MEA weekend. The fall colors were beautiful and lake was so peaceful. The house worked great for us, only downfall for us were the bathrooms were small and not many mirrors, and this only affected us because we are a family of girls :) Would not keep us from staying again, we made do. Jen was so easy to work with and very accommodating to all of our needs. The kids and adults loved the game table of 80's video games. The house is very warm and inviting. All in all we had a great weekend and can't wait to come back and enjoy the lake and fishing more (in a little warmer weather). The short drive from SE MN was so convenient and Turtle Lake and Clayton were both fun little towns to socialize in for a bit. Looking forward to our next stay.

“Beautiful home”
Great cabin (Lake Home)! Recently spent 3 nights at this beautiful home located on Horseshoe Lake with my brother & sons. Came up for the deer hunting opener, but my first thought after seeing the view from the back of the home, was fishing. We had 5 in our group, but the home could easily handle groups up to 10. Smaller kitchen, but had everything you would need. 3 separate TV areas with comfortable couches in each area. Nice game room up stairs with beautiful poker table. Beds and bedrooms all very comfortable. Smaller back yard (which we did not use), but there is large dock and nice outside deck over looking the lake. Overall - great place, would definitely consider staying here again. Owners are friendly and easy to work with.
