About Us

Welcome to Horseshoe Haven!

Enjoy the charm of cabin life, but with all of the modern amenities. Our lake home is open, spacious, light and airy but still feels warm and inviting. Upon entering, you are greeted with breathtaking views of Horseshoe Lake and a feeling that you are on top of the water.

Horseshoe Haven is our family cabin, but also an Airbnb vacation rental. It is located in Turtle Lake, which is an easy 60-90 minute drive from the Twin Cities and can include a scenic drive through Taylors Falls or Stillwater.  It is also around an hour from Menomonie or Eau Claire, less than 4 hours from Green Bay or Madison; under 5 hours from Milwaukee and less than 6 hours from Chicago.

We are close to the St. Croix Casino (which now has sports betting), restaurants, bars, breweries, wineries, bowling alley, Comstock Creamery, and the quaint boutiques and antique shops of Cumberland, Amery and Rice Lake.

Half of Horseshoe Lake is also in Barron County, which is home to hundreds of miles of ATV/ UTV trails, including the Cattail Trail and a 30 acre Intensive Use Area (ATV Playground), snowmobile trails, hiking and cross-country trails. Our cabin is located on an ATV-friendly road, just over a mile from the official ATV trails !

Horseshoe Lake is one of the most desirable lakes in the area. It is a 400 acre, fully recreational lake, deep and clean water, which makes it excellent for boating, skiing, tubing, swimming and fishing. A floating swim raft and a 20 foot Lily Pad increases the fun for kids and adults alike. Access to a canoe, three kayaks, two standup paddle boards and a paddle boat included (seasonally). We also have a gorgeous, deluxe Bennington G series pontoon boat available to rent (see Boat Rental section for more details).

Horseshoe Haven is also a Winter Paradise! We provide several pairs of snowshoes so that you can enjoy snowshoeing across the lake in the winter. The lake is just steps outside our door for skating, ice fishing, or snowmobiling. When you go ice fishing, we are so close to the lake that you can even watch your tip ups from the comfort of the cabin! Horseshoe Lake is in two counties (Polk and Barron) and there are a total of 630 miles of snowmobile trails in these two counties. The trail is just steps outside our door on the lake and there are snowmobile rentals nearby.

*Unfortunately, we do not allow any pets. There are a couple of highly-rated dog boarding facilities near the cabin.
